Apostille of the certificate

When planning to get a higher education or continue studying abroad, you need to be prepared for meticulous preparation of documents. One of the mandatory steps on the way to the intended goal is the apostille of the certificate. The same procedure is often required for employment abroad. The process includes submitting a set of documents to the authorized body, which in this case is the Ministry of Education of Ukraine. After submitting the papers, the body reviews the application and puts a stamp on the original provided. Without this stamp, neither the certificate nor the diploma will be considered legal and will not be accepted by institutions of another country.

How does the apostille procedure work?

With the growing trend of obtaining education and employment in European and Western countries, the term – apostille of a certificate has become especially relevant among Ukrainians. The procedure is aimed at legalizing educational documents and applications and allows them to be used in other countries. As a rule, the seal is placed on a separate document, which is stitched to the original. Today, only the Ministry of Education of Ukraine is authorized to put an apostille on a certificate. Therefore, taking on the matter independently, an individual must submit a list of documents to the body:

  • the original educational document on which the apostille will be affixed;
  • statement;
  • a receipt for payment of the established fee;
  • passport or a certified copy (in some cases, a power of attorney).
